INVITATION TO THE XVII. INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
SARAJEVO "SARAJEVO WINTER" 2001
for the VIDEO PROJECT "CALL ME SARAJEVO"

(19, 20, and 21 March 2001)

      The International Festival Sarajevo-"Sarajevo Winter" , traditionally
held
since 1984, this year in it's program includes a video
     project called "Call Me Sarajevo". This video project has an
international
character, and artist from 25 countries will be invited
       to take part. The project involves presentation of art works done in
the
form of artistic video of different genres, including
    experimental video, image montage, animation, new media (interactive), Web
site projects and video installations. A particular topic
                                 or content does not condition
participation in
this manifestation.

    The aim of "Call Me Sarajevo "project is to make video art and it's
message
accessible and readable to a wider audience. Even though
         the priority is to present contemporary art trough artistic video,
the
most important idea of this project is to create an
                                                  atmosphere of understanding.

    This event will initiate significant bonding of artists whose mutual
contacts will be expanded through meetings, individual contacts
    and potential future events of this kind. It also seeks to strengthen and
promote development of this sort of international cultural
                                                     and artistic network.

     We invite all the interested artists to apply for the "Call Me Sarajevo"
project. Those artists whose art works selects an expert's
                           commission that will be formed later in Sarajevo,
will take part in the project.
